The story of Lumber Resources begins with a family profession handed down from one generation to another. Philippe LeBlanc’s father Levi A. LeBlanc, a World War II veteran, owned a millwork company in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in the 1950s and 1960s. The company changed vocation over the years, from sawmill to the production of window and door sills and later to lumber distribution. Philippe literally grew up in this environment, playing in the wood shavings pile as a kid! Later, he would follow in his father’s footsteps, working in the forestry products industry. After earning his degree in forestry from the University of New Brunswick, Philippe worked across Canada in woodland operations, including a decade with softwood sawmill producer Normick Perron. After a rewarding career in operations, he started Lumber Resources in 2003.
